Are you ready to take your knitting skills to the next level? If you can confidently knit and purl, you are ready to cast on your first socks!
Join our Learn to Knit Socks Class — four hands-on sessions where you’ll learn every step, from reading patterns to finishing touches. Before the first class you’ll receive three cuff‑down, heel‑flap pattern recommendations to choose from; you’re welcome to use one of those or any similar pattern (not sure which to pick? Email us and we’ll help!).
This course is perfect whether you want to expand your skills or simply make a cozy pair of socks for yourself!
Note: Materials are not included in the cost of the workshop. You are welcome to bring yarn from your own stash or take advantage of a 10% discount off materials purchased in-store for use in the class.

Session Breakdown
Session 1 -- July 2nd: Cast On & Cuff
In this session, you'll learn how to:
- Read and understand your knitting pattern
- Work on Double-Pointed Needles
- Cast on your first sock, using the German Twisted Cast-On
- Required homework: Complete to leg, to the start of heel
Session 2 -- July 9th: Heel Flap & Turn
In this session, you will:
- Knit a reinforced heel flap using slip‑stitch technique
- Work short rows, maintaining stitch count and tension through the heel section
Session 3 -- July 16th: Gusset
In this session, you’ll focus on:
- Pick up stitches along the heel flap evenly and without gaps
Work gusset decreases to shape the instep and sole - Required Homework: Work the foot to the start of the toe.
Session 4 -- July 23rd: Toe
In this session, you’ll:
- Shape the toe with symmetric decreases for a neat finish
- Seamlessly close the toe using Kitchener Stitch
- Weave in ends to finish your sock

By the end of the course you’ll have completed your first sock, be ready to cast on its mate, and have the confidence to tackle more sock patterns and other small‑circumference projects. We can’t wait to knit with you!
