Modern Improv Quilting
Techniques & Projects for Improvisational Quilting
Modern Improv Quilting by Laura Veenema is an introduction to improvisational piecing — a quilting approach where design decisions are made intuitively rather than from a fixed pattern.
Three core techniques for improvisational piecing are covered in depth, each offering control over shape, scale, and colour without requiring a rigid plan. The nine projects range from classic bed and baby quilts to holiday stockings, crossbody bags, and a duffel — spanning a range of difficulty levels.
Plus, colour palette guidance is included throughout, with a focus on building palettes that suit the improv process.
