Learn to cross stitch — and leave with something handmade to treasure or gift.

In this three-hour crash course led by Kelsey, you’ll learn the basics of cross stitch from the ground up: materials, how to read a pattern, how to start and finish your work, and the core stitches you’ll encounter in the craft.

To put your new skills into practice, you’ll begin stitching a small ornament — simple enough to replicate and make as gifts for the holiday season, and versatile enough to use as home décor or a rearview mirror charm.

Note: All materials are included! Kelsey has curated kits with everything new stitchers need to get started.

About the Instructor

Kelsey Borden (she/her/they) is an artist, maker, and self-described textile nerd. She went on to attend NSCAD University, graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Textiles/Fashion. Her work often combines her love of illustration with textiles, working with narratives around craft, family, and personal thoughts. She started her teaching journey in 2023. When not playing around with thread, she runs Mayflower Paper Studio where she sells cards.
