Inspired by the magnificent Mount Sajama, Bolivia's highest peak, Sayama captures not only the essence of this awe-inspiring landscape and the iconic llamas that roam its slopes, but it embodies the rich cultural heritage of the Aymara people, known for their deep spiritual connection to nature and sustainable practices.

By blending luxurious llama and highland wool together, Pascuali bring you a yarn that is perfectly balanced between lightness and sturdiness, without compromising on quality or comfort and that is especially tailored for Scandinavian-style knitting and multicolored designs.

Sayama's colours are inspired by the vibrant Bolivian culture, blending the rich hues of llama wool—from white to deep black—with the soft tones of highland wool to create a diverse palette that reflects the region's spirit. Each shade tells a story drawn from the stunning landscapes, traditional textiles, and vibrant local festivals, honoring Bolivia's natural beauty and celebrating the craftsmanship of artisans who preserve their cultural heritage through weaving and dyeing. With every skein, Pascuali aim to convey a piece of this enchanting atmosphere.

    Certifications

    • OEKO-TEX Standard 100 -- a globally recognized testing system that guarantees textiles are free from potentially harmful substances.

Note: While llama wool doesn't yet have mass ecological certifications, Pascuali ensure the welfare of the animals involved in its production, guaranteeing both quality and ethical standards.

Note 2.0: Since Pascuali primarily supports small farmers and farms, not all their yarns are certified. As a rule, the farms cannot afford to obtain certifications such as GOTS. Instead, Pascuali reps travel to the respective regions to see the conditions for themselves -- their requirements are often higher than those of most textile certificates.
Additionally, Pascuali yarns are spun according to high standards either directly in the countries where the fibres are sourced or also in Italy and Portugal.
