Seasonal Slow Knitting
Thoughtful Projects for a Handmade Year
Seasonal Slow Knitting is the follow-up to Hannah Thiessen’s Slow Knitting, which introduced a framework for more intentional making through five tenets: source carefully, make thoughtfully, think seasonally, experiment fearlessly, and explore openly. This book applies those tenets across a full year of knitting practice, structured like a seasonal planting guide or farmer’s almanac.
Each chapter is organized by season and designed around small, practical shifts — how to approach your yarn stash, how to build time for knitting into daily life, how to plan projects in relation to the calendar. Essays, patterns, and projects run throughout, grounding the ideas in actual making.
A companion to Slow Knitting but readable independently.
